At Liberty Transformation Ministries Uganda (LTMU), we believe that every person deserves hope, dignity, and the love of Jesusโno matter where they come from or what theyโve been through. Thatโs why we reach out to refugee communities in Uganda, bringing both practical support and the Gospel of Christ.
Every day, thousands of people in refugee settlements face hunger, fear, and trauma after fleeing their homes due to war or disaster. Many feel forgotten, rejected, or abandoned. But through your support and Godโs grace, we bring light into their darknessโrestoring joy, purpose, and faith.
Why Refugee Ministry Matters
Uganda is one of Africaโs largest hosts of refugees, with over 1.5 million people living in settlements. These communities often lack food, clean water, proper healthcare, and spiritual support. But even in such hardship, God is at work.
At LTMU, we donโt just visit refugee campsโwe build relationships. We listen, we pray, and we show Godโs love through action. We believe transformation starts when people know they are seen, loved, and valued by God.
What We Do in Refugee Communities
We have a variety of outreach programs that meet both physical and spiritual needs of refugees:
- Discipleship and Bible teaching: We lead Bible study groups, childrenโs classes, and prayer meetings to help people grow in faith.
- Food and clothing distribution: We provide meals, clothes, and hygiene items for families who have little to nothing.
- Pastor training and support: We train refugee pastors and evangelists to minister within their own communities.
- Childrenโs ministry: We hold fun and educational Bible-based camps to give children hope and joy.
- Trauma healing sessions: We offer counseling and encouragement for those who have experienced deep pain.
Each act of kindness shows the love of Christ in action. Refugees begin to smile again. Children laugh and play. Families gather to worship. Lives begin to change from the inside out.
Real Stories of Transformation
One powerful testimony is from a young mother named Amina, who lost everything during a conflict in her home country. After arriving in Uganda, she had no food, no shelter, and no one to help. Our team visited her settlement, prayed with her, and helped provide food and a Bible. She now leads a prayer group in her camp and shares the message of Jesus with other women.
Another story comes from Pastor John, a refugee pastor who had never received formal training. LTMU enrolled him in one of our leadership workshops, and today he is leading over 100 people in weekly worship services under a tree in the camp.
Your Part in This Mission
You donโt need to travel to Uganda to make a difference. Your prayers, gifts, and partnership help us reach more refugee families with the Gospel and practical help. When you support LTMU, you become part of a bigger storyโone where hope overcomes despair and Christโs love transforms lives.
Be the Light in Their Darkness
Right now, many refugees are waiting for someone to care. Will you be that person?
