In many parts of rural Uganda, women face serious challenges. They often carry heavy responsibilities in their homes and communities, yet they have limited access to education, job opportunities, or spiritual support. At Liberty Transformation Ministries Uganda (LTMU), we believe that when women are empowered, entire families and communities are transformed.
Thatโs why one of our key missions is to uplift womenโspiritually, socially, and economically. Through mentorship, discipleship, and practical training, we help women discover their value and purpose in Christ and in life.
Women Are the Heart of the Community
Women in rural Uganda are caregivers, farmers, business owners, and spiritual leaders. Yet many of them are held back by poverty, early marriage, lack of education, or gender-based violence. LTMU reaches out to these women with love, compassion, and tools for change.
We run programs that provide safe spaces for women to learn, grow, and be heard. More importantly, we point them to Jesus, who gives them strength, dignity, and hope.
Stories of Transformation
1. Sarahโs Journey to Confidence
Sarah, a single mother from Iganga, had lost hope after years of struggling to feed her children. When she joined one of our womenโs fellowship groups, she found a new family. Through Bible study and mentorship, she learned that she is loved and valued by God. Today, Sarah leads other women in prayer and has started a small business selling handmade crafts.
2. Mary Finds Her Voice
Mary, a young woman from Luuka district, had never spoken in public before. But during one of our discipleship trainings, she gained courage to share her testimony. Now, she teaches Bible lessons to girls in her village and encourages them to stay in school and follow Christ.
3. Grace Becomes a Role Model
Grace attended one of our leadership workshops and learned how to start a village savings group. With this new skill, she helped form a group of 15 women who now save money together, support each other, and invest in small farming projects. Grace is now respected as a leader and mentor in her community.
What We Do to Empower Women
LTMUโs womenโs ministry works through:
- Mentorship and Discipleship
We train women in Godโs Word and walk with them in prayer, counseling, and encouragement. We help them grow spiritually and lead others. - Leadership Training
We equip women to serve as leaders in churches, homes, and communities. We believe that every woman has a gift to offer. - Practical Skills and Income Projects
We teach skills like tailoring, craft-making, farming, and small business management. These skills help women earn income and support their families. - Health and Wellness Support
We organize womenโs health talks and link them to basic healthcare services, especially for mothers and children.
The Power of Hope
What makes our work powerful is not just the trainingโitโs the message of hope that Jesus brings. Many women who once felt forgotten are now confident, joyful, and bold in their faith. They have become leaders, teachers, business owners, and change-makers.
At Liberty Transformation Ministries, we have seen that when one woman is empowered, she influences her family, her neighbors, and even the next generation. This is the kind of transformation that lasts.
